The first batch of iPhone 11, manufactured in the Indian Chennai plant, is now available for purchase in the country
Foxconn, which is responsible for assembling and manufacturing various Apple devices, has started manufacturing iPhone 11 phones at its factory in India.
According to reports, "the first batch of iPhone 11 phones manufactured in the Chennai Indian factory is now available for purchase in the country."
The move comes in the framework of the company’s endeavor to reduce the price of the device and get rid of the heavy dependence on manufacturing in China, knowing that Apple manufactured the iPhone XR last year in India as well. Prior to that, the American company had manufactured the iPhone 6S and iPhone 8 and the first generation iPhone SE in India, through the Wistron factory.
However, Foxconn plans to invest an additional $ 1 billion in various factories in India, to increase production capacity from various phones and devices, and to shift more towards manufacturing decentralization, which relies mainly on China.
