Shark attacks on humans are extremely rare in Maine. But concerns rose in Massachusetts according to Boston25 News. Cape Cod in Massachusetts, which stretches into the Atlantic Ocean, has seen an increasing number of great white sharks.
In 2018, he attacked a 61-year-old shark that left deep cuts on his torso and leg at Longnock Beach in Truro. A month later, a 26-year-old shark attacked off Newcomb Hollow Beach in Wellfleet. Dr. Skomal said: “The increase in seals is what this shark is targeting.
“It is important for everyone to understand that the likelihood of a shark attack is still remarkably low.”
