Data released by the National Statistics Institute in Portugal revealed today, Monday, that the foreign tourists' accommodations in hotels and other tourist accommodations declined by 96% during the month of June compared to the same period last year due to the new Corona virus.

The institute reported - according to the network "CNN" America - that the number of occupancy reached 1.1 million tourists, which represents a decrease of 85.1% compared to 2019.

According to the data released, the tourists of Britain, France and Spain were the most foreign tourists canceling their reservations, explaining the contraction of the English market, which is one of the most important markets for the Portuguese tourism sector by 98.2% .. Adding that about 45.2% of the tourist accommodations were completely closed and did not receive any Guest during the last month of June.

On the other hand, the data showed that the domestic flights of residents contributed to reducing the blow received by the Portuguese tourism sector, but the total number of domestic tourists was 81.7% lower compared to last year.
